Day 194: The Light of Transcendence

Debbie Ford Says, “You are on a soulful path that asks you to step into the greatest version of yourself. It is a sacred gift to shine your brightest light, not just in your moments of glory, but each day. To step into the enormity of what’s possible for your life and to live in the expansiveness of your future, you will need to step out of the smallness of your individual self and into the vastness of the collective whole by evoking the next agent of change called transcendence.

Inside of your individual self, your human “I,” you will remain in the illusion that you are separate from the whole, acting on your own accord. You will more than likely sabotage any greatness that you do express because the deep feelings of unworthiness that arise as a result of denying your divinity will cause you to act out in ways that you never intended. You will hear the noisy chatter of separation and limitation.

But when you transcend the “I” and step into the “we” of the collective whole, you are able to be present to the fact that you are a molecule of the greatest power that exists and that you are here to deliver a divine gift to the world. You become willing to be used by a power greater than yourself—not to just serve yourself but to inspire and ignite a light inside of each soul who is touched by your gifts, kindness and essence. Connected to the collective heart, you can be certain in every cell of your being that you are never alone and you will experience the grace, guidance and ease that comes when you are one with all there is.” (21 Day Consciousness Cleanse at www.oprah.com)

I just can’t say it better than she does, so I bring her quotes to my blog to share in the inspiratin that she gave me.

She talkes about “being one” with all that is and that is a powerful phrase that has my attention these days. It can also be described as Unity, but I used to always think of unity in the external sense of, you know, not being divided.

But when you consider the unity of mind, body, and soul in the context of Divine Oneness a new awareness opens up that brings such peace and beauty.

Day 193: The Light of Devotion

“By today you may very likely feel a raw determination rising up to the surface—this is the passion of your soul that cannot be held back ever again. When you finally muster up the courage and the strength from inside your human self to declare, “I am going to fulfill my highest potential now,” you are lifted out of the confining walls of your ego’s will and into the limitless embrace of God’s will . When you are committed to living a life in service to the most high, the choices to be great, to serve and be served, to love and be loved are apparent. You are keenly aware that the only way to get yourself to where you want you to go is to keep yourself fully bathed in the light. You know that your one and only job is to nurture and nourish yourself.

To stay in the state of inspiration and to experience the profound resource that resides within, invoke the agent of change called devotion. Devotion begins at home, inside your own awareness. Devotion is the agent of change that invites you to devote yourself—minute by minute, hour by hour and day by day—to chipping off whatever is in the way of your golden essence, anything that keeps your light from shining brightly. Calling on you to give up control of the outer world and gladly accept control of your inner relationship with God, devotion is essential for fully realizing your soul’s calling.” Written by Debbie Ford on www.Oprah.com

She wrote it so well, I don’t think there’s anything to add…all that I can say, in terms of virtues is this: Your life is sacred. You are sacred. When we live in acknowledgemen of our sacred selves we are stronger, wiser, happier. When we live away from our sacred selves we are weaker, foggy-minded and feel a sense of loss or vague longing.

Sacredness is not really a “virtue” per say…(or is it? To be debated I’m sure but that is beyond the scope of this blog) but Reverence is certainly a virtue.

By bringing Reverence into our lives, we honour the sacred in ourselves and show gratitude to our Creator.

I am grateful for Oprah for posting this 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse and for so openly honouring all that is sacred in each of us and in acknowledging that our sacredness comes from God.

Day 182: The Gift of Reverence

Last night, when I was looking for an inspirational video on Reverence I happened across this video of David Sides and my heart is still soaring in the heavens of inspiration on the melody of this song.

Why Reverence is so important on the path towards Peace is because it is the beginning steps of removing ourselves from ourselves and turning ourselves towards the Divine.

In truth, we have two sides to us — whether we call that our Higher and Lower self or our True Self and Ego Self or our Animal Self and our Spiritual Self– these are all titles (which is why I capitalized them) for the same condition.

Our True Self is our Soul, is our link to God, or Love, or the Divine Spirit.

Our Ego Self is a creation of our thoughts, our minds, our thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Our True Self seeks Unity, Love, Beauty, Oneness.

Our Ego Self seeks distinction, separateness, power, authority.

Reverence is the beginning of saying to our ego, “listen, what you’ve been telling me has not worked out for me so far. There’s got to be a better way.”

And the ego doesn’t like that because the ego likes fear and hurt and negative emotions better. (Ekhart Tolle writes much about this so well in The Power of Now and The New Earth!)

But then there is the prompting of our Soul, of our True Self, which keeps calling back. And it hurts when we don’t follow the promptings of our soul towards Peace. And it begins to hurt more and more and more until we make that great big choice and say, “Okay, I don’t know what this “True Self” business is all about…but there’s got to be something to it.”

We have Free Will and that is what allows us to choose between our higher promptings of the soul and our lower desires of the body.

When I listened to David’s music it was as though my soul was singing.

I hope for everyone that you may catch a breeze of that soft flowing fragrance of beauty that comes when one sits in stillness and breathes in the serenity that is Reverance.

I just feel compelled to say, “Namaste” which means “The Divine in me bows to the Divine in you.” (My Yoga background is coming out here accidentally…sorry!)

I wish you all well today on your journey towards Peace. You will achieve that goal which you desire. You will.
